With the release of his debut album 'The Orchid Room,' award-winning singer songwriter Charles Duke continues exploring his musical pen and expanding his sound. The album, part auto-biographical, was recorded as solo piano and voice project just outside of New York City on a brisk overcast autumn day. The songs had been both lived and lived with, written over the span of several years. 

While performing with bassist Dan Martinez and drummer Ismael Baiz this summer, "Distance," a sensual pining love song from the album took on a different life. Duke says, "We speak about music as a universal language. There are these moments in music -in live performance- where it all makes sense. It takes an audience, listening musicians, the right song, the right place, and the right time. Then, there's the vibe."

A mixture of life experiences and observations, Duke’s concert seeks through prose and melody, piano and voice, to touch the matters of the human heart and what occurs where love lives. 

Tickets are $15 before July 13th and $20 at the door the day of show.

Inspired by the quiet storm vibes of Sade and the neo-soul movement of the late 90s, Charles' song is one of melody and message.

Describing the title of Saturday's Colors Concert, Duke says, "We all secrectly desire to really engaging with life deeply. Truly feeling love, lust, heartache... and strength. It's about living life in Color. And music colors our lives and ultimately takes us higher. Saturday, we go higher."
